Why Book Me?
I have all the gear (and thankfully some idea)
Whatever you need shooting, I have it covered. From lights, to wireless mics, multi-camera setups, gimbals, analog film photos, green screens, flashes, zoom lenses… I’ve got the vast majority of gear needed for any shoot – bright sunshine or candle-lit, without having to charge hire fees on top.
So reliable I have a corporate job
I work in IT, which usually means turning up on time, thinking ahead, and having contingency plans. During work I manage teams and operate in fairly chaotic environments with my bravest face on, so I won’t need managing on the day for a stress-free shoot. I know how to handle data safely – everything I shoot is backed up twice. I’m also DBS checked, so even the government think I’m a good bloke.
Photos sharp enough to come with a safety warning
I use the latest cameras and best lenses I can get my hands on, so I can deliver images and video that I’m proud of. My main camera is very high resolution, meaning that even when cropping into images, you’ll still have a huge amount of detail.
I shoot on Sony cameras with brilliant autofocus and stabilisation. My main bodies are an a7CR (with a frankly unnecessary 61mp) and an a6700 which is an amazing hybrid photo and video camera. I have lenses ranging from 11mm to 600mm, from fast f/1.4 primes to compact zooms.
Both photo and video from a one-man-band
I’ve always been a hybrid shooter, from taking photos at every party I’ve been to since I was a teenager, to shooting video for social media in my corporate job. If your project needs photo and video, I can deliver media that has a cohesive look and feel.
I’ve invested in too much stuff already. Photo and video tripods, gimbals for smooth video stabilisation, portable multi-light set ups with soft boxes, on and off-camera flashes, film cameras, green screens, reflectors, tiny wireless microphones… Enough gear to handle whatever the day throws at us.
Specialism in HDR Content
In the past, all photos could only show brightness as bright as “paper white” – because we were mostly printing them. Now, HDR photos and videos can display bright areas as if they’re actually emitting light on compatible devices (most new phones, Macs, iPads and TVs). I specialise in shooting HDR content that looks incredible on modern screens, and I’m always happy to output in standard SDR too.
I shoot in RAW and edit photos in Lightroom using their HDR pipeline, outputting in JPEG XL HDR – which is natively supported on iPhones, Macs and a growing number of other devices. For video, I shoot in 4K HLG up to 50FPS for a quick turn around, or S-Log3 with colour grading for longer projects.
Storytelling that feels natural
I’m happiest when capturing candid emotions and real moments. I like delivering images that feel authentic to the moment, so you can look back on them and relive it with genuine authenticity. My editing style is typically natural, enhancing what’s already there rather than inventing something artificial.
